Binance is committing $100 million to Circle Internet Group Inc. and renewing its strategic alliance for a five-year term, with the goal of broadening USDC adoption in emerging markets across global platforms and financial services.
Binance made a $100 million investment in Circle on Tuesday, buying Class A common stock at 5% below market value before the deal closed, with Circle listed on the New York Stock Exchange as CRCL.
The partnership between Binance and Circle will be expanded, with Binance promoting the USDC stablecoin across its platform, particularly in emerging markets, while Circle provides necessary infrastructure for its use.
“Circle has earned its place as one of the most credible issuers in the world spanning USDC, Arc and the infrastructure reshaping how value moves across borders,” Richard Teng, co-CEO of Binance, said in a statement. “Our $100 million investment and five-year commitment represent long-duration conviction,” Teng added, emphasizing the partnership’s goal to expand access to what he described as a “stable, trusted digital dollar.”

The investment comes as stablecoins grow in importance within the digital-asset market, especially for transferring and holding dollar-denominated value internationally. Binance’s focus on emerging markets includes expanding access to USDC through its global platform. The exchange views stablecoins as a means to provide users with digital access to dollar-denominated assets via smartphones and internet-connected devices.
According to Jeremy Allaire, CEO of Circle, the partnership will allow the companies to explore opportunities in dollar access, savings, investments, and digital assets, with Allaire saying they see opportunities to leverage USDC for dollar access, savings, and investment in emerging markets.
The companies highlighted Binance’s large digital-currency user base and Circle’s stablecoin and financial infrastructure as mutually beneficial strengths in expanding USDC adoption. For Circle, the agreement provides access to Binance’s global distribution network as stablecoin adoption grows beyond cryptocurrency trading into payments, savings and cross-border transactions.
For Binance, the investment adds an equity component to its relationship with one of the industry’s leading stablecoin issuers, while the five-year agreement offers a longer-term framework for promoting the stablecoin across its platform. The deal also connects Binance more closely to Circle’s broader infrastructure goals, including Arc, Circle’s blockchain designed for payments and financial applications.
