Samsung Electronics has initiated the formal deployment of One UI 9, introducing an array of innovative features to enhance the Galaxy experience, including advanced AI capabilities, personalized tools, and robust security measures, which will be available on a broader range of devices.
Transforming daily interactions with AI
The rollout commences with the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, subsequent to its initial release on Samsung’s latest foldable devices, such as the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8. One UI 9 is engineered to render Galaxy devices more attuned to their users’ needs, granting them greater control over content creation, information organization, and device management.
The integration of AI in everyday Galaxy features has been significantly enhanced. For instance, My FanCam leverages AI to automatically track a selected individual in recorded videos, ensuring they remain centered as the scene evolves, thereby reducing the necessity for manual adjustments during the recording of events, such as performances or sports.
Samsung has also augmented the Now Brief experience with the introduction of Generative and Editable Cards, enabling users to create personalized cards that cover various aspects, including health, weather, and video, allowing for a more tailored daily summary that reflects their individual priorities.

Furthermore, the Now Nudge feature provides context-aware suggestions within various facets of the Galaxy experience. For example, when users are engaged in planning activities via text conversations, this feature can facilitate the sharing of reservation details or the saving of a shared location without necessitating the user to exit the conversation.
In addition, Samsung is introducing more proactive creative tools. The Creative Studio can suggest ideas for generating images based on upcoming events, such as creating themed birthday greetings or images when a friend’s birthday is approaching.
Enhanced translation and productivity capabilities
One UI 9 also expands Samsung’s translation and productivity features. The Interpreter feature now includes a Thread View, enabling users to reference earlier exchanges during translated conversations. Samsung notes that Conversation Mode translation has become faster, and compatible Galaxy Buds can provide quicker playback.
The Document Scan feature has been updated to handle complex materials, such as curved book pages and papers with folded corners, with minimal manual intervention. Samsung is also enhancing scanning capabilities on compatible large-screen Galaxy devices and introducing an advanced Finger Eraser.
For recorded conversations and meetings, the Voice Recorder now presents summaries in a more structured format, incorporating headings and tables designed to facilitate easier review of key information.

Streamlining security tools
One UI 9 also integrates more support functions into the Settings menu through the Warranty and Care feature. Users can now check warranty coverage for connected devices, run diagnostics, view repair estimates, manage Samsung Care+, and schedule service appointments.
Samsung is also introducing new security and privacy features. The Security Brief feature incorporates alerts regarding potential issues, such as malware and unnecessary permissions, into the Now Brief.
Privacy Alerts utilize on-device AI to identify potential privacy risks, including unauthorized attempts by applications to access permissions in the background. Samsung is also expanding Scam Detection to additional countries and languages, extending protection against potentially fraudulent calls to more Galaxy users in supported markets.
The rollout of One UI 9 will continue beyond the initial Galaxy S26 series as Samsung makes the software available to additional compatible Galaxy devices. The availability of individual features may vary depending on the device, market, and language.
